Is SoC finally worth it?

Hey, I wondered if the DLC was finally worth it?  I skipped on the DLC due to the backlash at launch and wondered if the additions made it better.  It's still Mostly Negative on Steam so... 

Are the additions important to the races and changing them for the better?  I only care about single player
