In addition to the standing Terms and Conditions present across all our websites and services, we operate a code of conduct across the forum. This helps us to ensure that the space as remains inclusive as possible, where respect and kindness is always the primary position for user interaction.

Our community of players is spread all over the world, coming from all walks of life, from all sorts of different backgrounds – but you each share in a love of our games, and have a passion for helping others to discover that fun.

So that we can ensure that everyone feels safe, and fairly treated, we have expectations around everyone's conduct. These expectations are designed to ensure that this space is kept inclusive for everyone and helps people to feel respected when they’re posting.

Above and beyond the guidance that you’ll see listed below, we entrust our Moderators across our forums to identify the right times to apply these rules, and to appropriately decide when a person's behaviour, or conversation is crossing the line, even when that line is yet to be formally defined.

HOW SHOULD I BEHAVE ON THE FORUMS?

In any instances where we feel that someone has behaved out of line, our team will step in to help correct things. This can take the form of a simple message helping to inform you about the forum's rules, and how we expect people to behave when making use of them or can be to let you know about any actions that we’ve taken to limit your access to the forums themselves.

CORRECT USE OF OUR FORUMS

POST IN ENGLISH

We’re unable to help provide support or moderation outside of the English language. If ever that changes, we’ll let you know, but be aware that we may remove posts that appear on the forums in other languages.

CHECK FOR SIMILAR POSTS
It may be that someone else has started a post that shares the same topic as the one you intended to create. Make the most of the search options here on the forums and consider adding your voice to that post instead. Our moderators will routinely merge, or close duplicate posts if they feel it will help to best centralise the conversation.

HELP KEEP THINGS FOCUSED

Whenever you’re replying and adding to an existing post, consider if what you’re bringing to the conversation is diverting away from the posts original purpose. If so, start a whole new thread and look to drive a more focused conversation there instead

LET US KNOW WHEN THINGS DON'T SEEM RIGHT

Whether it’s an issue with the forum itself, or a problem with someone’s post, or their behaviour, report it to the Moderators and we’ll help to set it right.

WHAT WE DON'T WANT TO SEE

RUDENESS AND ABUSIVE COMMUNICATION

In any instance where we see people behaving improperly, we’ll step in and take appropriate action. We’re here each share in our experiences playing our games, and that won’t ever warrant poor behaviour towards other posters, moderators, or members of Creative Assembly.

COMMENTARY ON REAL-WORLD EVENTS

This isn’t a space for conversations about events showing up in the News, or for creating divisive topics of conversation that cast members of the community against one and other. Even the best intended of posts will be removed, and we’ll thank you for helping to keep conversations here as inclusive as possible.

WEB LINKS THAT DIRECT TO QUESTIONABLE WEBSITES

If you’re ever clicking on a weblink that will take you away from the forums, you will receive appropriate notifications that make you aware that you’re about to leave our forums. If ever we feel that the weblink would provide a damaging experience to a user, our team will step in to remove it. Stick to trusted and high traffic websites, and our teams won’t need to intervene.

POSTING INAPPORPRIATE CONTENT

Whether it’s in your profile, in your post, or on a reply, anything deemed to be inappropriate by our teams will be removed. Keep the memes friendly, keep them safe for work, and keep them respectful.

INSTANCES WE'LL STEP IN AND TAKE IMMEDIATE ACTION

There are a handful of exceptional cases where our teams will step in to take immediate action without entertaining further conversation on the matter. This response is generally fast followed with rapid sanctions against an individual's account here on the forums, and covers a broad and non-exhaustive range of topics which can include things like:

  • Doxing, and the posting of personal information.
  • Intolerance towards others and marginalised groups in society.
  • Troll behaviour designed to disrupt and inflame others.
  • The posting of illegal content.
  • Threats of violence made to other posters, moderators, or members of Creative Assembly
  • Actions designed to circumvent sanctions against moderated content, or restrictions placed against an offending account.

WHAT DO I DO IF I GO BANNED?

Take a break! Bans are not issued lightly, and we only use them to protect the community and enable a space for them to play a healthy and constructive part in the games they love. The code of conduct (above) is in place to help protect the experience of people across our community, and if you’ve found yourself sanctioned for breaking those rules, it was done because your actions/interactions were actively working against those interests.

If you think that we’ve made a mistake, you can reach out to a member of the moderation team on the forums, or to the SEGA Support Team for assistance.
