I think it would be nice to hide certain information from other players depended on what slide your in like

(Team 1) players can see each other's territory/progress but cannot see the other teams territory/progress

(Team 2) players can see each other's territory/progress but cannot see the other teams territory/progress

(Free For All) cannot see the other players territory/progress but can only see its own territory/progress 

Absolutely agree. Right now competitive 1v1 gameplay is not very possible as you can have valuable intel on your opponent's expansion right in the lobby. I would also argue that sometimes hiding which factions were selected by players would be incredibly useful as well.
