The old timer of the game will remember that it was possible to set the game's sound to Creative Lab's EAX settings and enjoy the battle madness in surround sound. This was hardware based - and as nearly every machine those days had the required card that was a nice treat indeed.

And then the cards vanished over time...

Fret no longer! A simple installation of driver files (no hardware required) allows you to go back to the surround sound - download the installer here.

Simply follow the instructions and at the end start the game and set your preferred EAX setting, see picture below.
