I remember S2 being pretty basic, especially compared to Empire. I don’t think they’ll need a full on new engine for it. S2 is one of the smaller main games.

just seen the trailer for Shogun, looks great and would be a great narrative for this era.

S2 still holds up greatly tho, so not really feeling like a new game will improve it. Would only say the battle terrain and diplomacy is outright improve with much else having many downsides.
