Outstanding issues still present in TW3K

[High Priority fixes]


- Eight Princes skilltrees (like Understanding) will often cause CTD's on resolutions higher than 1920x1080 that are also using custom UI interface size.
- Common CTD after recruiting a character post-battle that actually gained a level in that battle : this will prompt the player to look at the character but then the game will crash.

- Characters in the campaign map will vanish in certain places with certain camera angles/zoom level.

- Pencheng City model on the campaign map is full of trees
- Nanyang City on the campaign map neighbours a spot where map texture tiles are straight up missing
- Zhengguo Canal is also missing texture tiles on both ends.

- Lack of VP in Minor/Encampment battles is doing more harm than good (cf : looping strategy). This should be Medium Priority but I don't think the community can "fix" that, ergo High Priority

- Characters not generating naturally in players faction.



[Medium Priority fixes] :


- Balancing issues on mechanics introduced in Fates Divided DLC : Imperial Favour. Cao Cao Schemes. Faction Council. Yuan Shao captain armoury. Are all really interesting and well designed mechanics that suffer from a lack of balance & polish. cf : Half of Cao Cao schemes are OP whilst another half are useless. Faction Council Looters are both a mechanic that brings a lot of frustration to players (probably because they scale too fast) whilst also being non-functional in 3 out of 4 cases (Only the Northern Nomads work - Pirate raids do not - which apparently is fixed by removing the check on whether or not they can spawn lol)

- Some campaign map events still do not fire properly, fire too often or fire without consequences. (Diaochan event does not spawn Diaochan; Sun Jian death has too much chance of happening; Yuan Shu declaring war on the Han won't work because the game tries to have the Han declare war on Yuan Shu which they can't because they are a vassal and vassals can't start wars)

- Custom/MP battle loadouts are often completely wrong. Additionnally one of the buffs of Heroes in Custom/MP battles is a HP bonus. However this bonus applies twice to the Romance characters (giving them absurd HP pools) and not to Records characters (making them a standard cavalry unit and basically nerfing the Champions class into the ground as they rely on the larger unit size...)

- Battle AI usage groups seems to be wrong (with no clear distinction between the different classes of generals in Records which is just wrong) - there also seems to be some weird cases with the Blocker usage as it seems it makes the units prioritize tanking arrow fire (whilst it's being primarily given to pike - aka unshielded - units)

- Some characters aren't related by blood in some start dates even tho they should (ie : Wu Jing and Lady Wu)

- Historical Battles were left unpatched, unupdated and frankly look like a complete mess. A sorry sight for the game.

- Making sure all the assets in the game are used properly : this means all visual models (Sun Jian horse/Yu Jin swords) but also voice effects (the battle banter system seems to be wacky and wonky)


[Low Priority fixes] :


- Balancing issues on units left in the game that are numerous yet tiny enough to have flown under the radar (except how bad some units like the Ji Infantry are)

- Balancing issues on heroes left in the game that are again numerous and hard to gauge as feedback would find completely contradicting results depending on the unit size used. (ie : Flames of the Phoenix or Roar of the Beast are very strong in Ultra setting but they are downright OP in anything under Large - Targeting Strike not being an AoE ability and therefore one of the worst skills in the game is another good exemple. Mock can also snipe characters at inifite range if movement is blocked by city walls.)

- Garrisons are not always correct for all settlements (Tier 2 is never using the proper garrison loadout which is two retinues of 4). Also there is still a bug where building the Imperial Palace (which upgrades the Garrison to Imperial Units) in an Emperor Seat (which upgrades the Garrison to Imperial Units), downgrades the garrison level to a standard Eight Prince garrison.

- Lot of wrong values in character armor & weapon damage values (ex : Nanman armor not set up properly; Defence of Levity using Ji stats even tho it's a glaive)

- Balancing issues on buildings, some being completely useless (Like the Han Food Market tier 4 and 5) whilst others are too strong (Like the Copper Mint building). Also Cao Cao Rice Paddies Agricultural Garrison giving factionwide replenishment and basically turning the game to super easy mode.

This is a very small list, completely unexhaustive and pretty vague on purpose. But I'd like CA to remember that this game could. still. use. some. updates.

Its been nearly 3 years the odds of getting an update is probably in the realm of not going to happen all we can do is hope the they remember these issues for the next title after Pharaoh.

I know a patch is most likely not happening. For one to happen it would only cover tech stuff and the game not working.



But I'll fight for one regardless, I gave up on Attila but I refuse to do it again with 3K. I wish tinkerers and modders could fix all the issues in the game, and truthfully they can fix a lot, but there's also a good core of real issues that we can't change. (Like the character generation for the player faction not working, or getting rid of the Capture Points in favour of Victory Points)
