Dear Team,

First, I want to express my appreciation for the new units that have been added for the Greenskins, in particular how they round out the thematic and unique roster of a long-time favourite Legendary Lord, of mine, Skarsnik. However, I believe there's an opportunity to make his "Underbosses" skill more fitting and flavourful.

Suggestion

Currently, Skarsnik's "Underbosses" skill provides recruitment of Goblin Big Boss and Night Goblin Shaman heroes, which is a flavourful and practical benefit. However, as Skarsnik is the preeminent Night Goblin warlord, it feels slightly odd that his skill does not interact with Night Goblin Big Bosses, a hero type that seems specifically designed to fill this role as Night Goblin henchgit.

I propose that Skarsnik's "Underbosses" skill should Unlock Hero Recruitment: Night Goblin Big Boss (all provinces) alongside the other goblin heroes.

This would align perfectly with Skarsnik's lore and character while giving players a more thematic and immersive experience when playing his campaign.

Why this change

  1. Lore Consistency: Skarsnik is widely recognized as the greatest Night Goblin warlord. It makes sense that his lieutenants (or "underbosses") would include Night Goblin heroes to reflect his dominance over Night Goblin tribes.
  2. Thematic Cohesion: Allowing Night Goblin Big Bosses to be recruited by Skarsnik would further differentiate him from other Greenskin Legendary Lords and strengthen his unique campaign identity.
  3. Gameplay Enrichment: While Goblin Big Bosses and Night Goblin Shamans are useful, incorporating Night Goblin Big Bosses would provide additional flavor and strategic options, particularly for players who enjoy leaning into Skarsnik's Night Goblin theme.

Likely Impact

This change would be relatively small from a gameplay balance perspective but would greatly enhance immersion for players who love Skarsnik and his Night Goblin-centric playstyle. It also helps bridge the gap between lore and gameplay mechanics.

Fully agreed. I think the issue is that they come in different DLCs, one solution would be to make the skull more vague and just refer to “all Goblin Characters”.

Agreed. I was surprised that this wasn't changed accordingly, but the DLC argument would explain that.
On the same note regarding Skarsnik's DLC, I really think Belegar's skill "Tunnel Warfare" should affect Irondrakes and other units associated with underground warfare instead of Rangers and what have you.
