Norsca didn't have an army book (though they did have an old citadel journal list) so it's hard to say what is "missing", same way we can't really say what Kislev is "missing" currently

This is my version of it. Mainly TT and then some noteworthy lore/non-canon stutff:

well, I think it´s fair to assume Kislev is missing some war machines (they had wagons with mortar I believe) and the frostfiend as well as some ungol units and probably other minor spirits of the land.

I'm actually a bit doubtful about the frostfiend being added. If they were going to add it, it seems like it would have been way easier to use a Vargheist as a base, retexture it, and use that as the Frostfiend. Instead, CA created a brand new model and set of animations for an Ice Court themed unit. I'll be surprised if Kislev gets any flying units, as I think that's what is going to be the "lacking" element of them

I still don't think Mortkin fits Norsca at all.
Sure king of Norsca and all that but he is the epitome of Chaos Warrior and an everchosen light.

He led Chaos Warrior, BM and Demons into battle and on top of that his personal unit are famous CW as well.

Seeing him as the leader of marauders only in the game wouldn't fit and if you go hybrid faction that fields all that should go to the true Everchosen.

If not a Frostfiend, then a Frost/Ice Dragon as per Storm of Magic

He could be a norscan that gains WoC units and what not as he grows more powerful.

Mortkin is a good literary character, but absolutely not fit for a videogame that mostly ignores character motivations. If you just want another ironclad, spiky muscleman to go and conquer an empire, Chaos offers more than enough alternatives like Egil Styrbjorn or Vardek Crom.

My issue with this is that it would be kind of boring since you can allready have WoC with Norsca via ally mechanics.
What Norsca really needs is to be more distinct from WoC and not more mixed up, imho.

I agree, Mortkin is so interesting because of his ending which naturally can't be translated into the game.
Other than that he is Archaon light.

Yes, exactly. Mortkin is just "Archaon is busy but we have an Everchosen at home" the character.

Except it's the other way around. Chaos Warriors and Chosen are his personal army. Marauders are just friends slaves he made along the way.

Mortkin is better than those two.

Except he'd be doing it with a Norscan roster instead of a WoC one.

How? You aren't going to pull the whole "I'm using Chaos, Chaos isn't using me" thing, so Mortkin just becomes a generic musclebound tinpot tyrant.

Norsca should get either one bigger dlc for them, or two normal dlc (same with the Vampire Counts)

Norse/Sea Raiding themed dlc 1

Egil Styrbjorn LL

Beorg Bearstruck LH

Reaver Captain L (Berserker lord) Or SkinWolf Alpha L (if the marauder chieftain gets updated to not be so terrible and basic)

Valkyrie H (Generalist combat hero)

Giant Chaos Wolf (Fast Anti-large SEM)

Northern Scavengers (chaos crows)

Reavers (more armored berserkers with strider, could make them 80 unit size to help them stand out)

Skin Bears (AP anti-large monsters with regen)

Whalers (anti-large higher tier javelins)

Monster/Kurgan dlc 2

Sayl the Faithless LL

Night Maw LH (This guy's weird, because he probably should work like Krell does where he's always with Sayl)

Fimir Warlord (Anti-large greatweapon lord)

Fimir Noble (melee fimir, Could be given duel weapons as an anti-infantry focused hero)

Fenbeasts (Monstrous infantry that are unbreakable as long as the lord is alive, with aquatic, could even give them the Boglar ability where they regen in water)

Shearls (Similar to ogre bulls)

Curs'd Ettin (Giant with bound spell)

Kurgan Raiders (Great weapon light shock cav, high charge bonus and AP, but low MD)

Flayerkin

FLC Shaman-Seer (Could swap with the Fimir Warlord for the dlc slot)

You know I'd love a bigger DLC for Norsca, either with marked things or furthering the norse theme. But somehow I doubt that CA will ever push as deep into the RPG that would be required for the latter.

Sure you are.  You just aren't going to pull the whole "I'm gonna kill myself" thing.

Which is all Crom and Egil are.  But Mortkin does it with more style.

Except that was the only way to actually make it work. If he had stuck around he'd probably either fall to Chaos anyway or be killed off by his enraged followers, presumably as a sacrifice.

Okay this is looking less and less like a Norsca DLC. Why would Norsca get the Siege Giant?
