We need a magical forest in Kislev

Even though I still think Ostankya should be a horde faction (hear out my reasoning: hut + legs)  which make covens only for her allied factions and there should be absolutly destructible by razing or occuping the settlement (totally not a Changeling gamebreaking situation). She also should star on a Magical Forest placed in Kislev.

CA, listen to this. The solution is not to give Ostankya an option to start in Kislev. It is for her to start in Kislev (Eastern Oblast), with a magical forest homebase.

CA, we already have every Kislev faction in the game all in or right around Kislev, thanks for the solution that gives a more unique enemy to fight in the west for Morathi or the Sisters.

Move Boris out to the western Wastes to fight Valkia, Malekith and Hellebron. Problem solved.

If CA wanted to add a couple more that lorewise would fit with the existing world root map we have, there's still a living world root that goes to the very southern tip of Ind (Araloth), and another that goes up just south of Valkia's start (Naieth)

Beastmen should have normal settlements in magical forests and be main enemy of wood elfs. There could be more forests for them for start.

while I understand CA´s not wanting to put another Kislev faction around Kislev there are supposed to be wood elves in Kislev. A magic forest is definitely missing.

Completely agree.  Make Dukhlys Forest a Magical Forest.  Move her start position there.


Move Boris to Ironfrost Glacier.


Add Great Rasputia to the Eastern Steppes and give Kostaltyn a dual start/dilemma there.

Magical Forests should have 3 unique skins.


1. Wood Elves = Standard Magical Forest

2. Drycha = Dark Malevolent Magical Forest with spider webs

3. Ostankya = Haunted Forest mostly barren of foliage.

world roots.pngI loaded up the World Root map, and put green lines where the existing world roots that lead to magical forests would be (taking into account the smaller Lustria and Southlands), and the yellow lines are where the world roots exist but don't lead to a magical forest, so if CA wanted to remain accurate to that, There's like 7 locations (Northern Naggarond, Northwest Lustria, Southern Southlands, North East Southlands, Albion, Southern tip of Ind, and Dragon Isles) that all would fit new forests. 


Having said that, there's a magical forest in Cathay that as far as I could see, wouldn't be connected to the world roots, so CA might be better off adding them outside the existing roots, but if they're going to do that, I feel like somewhere in the northeast of the map would be better, either in northern Cathay, or even in Warhammer Korea (or Nippon if it was ever added).

​You're ignoring the dead Worldroots on the Worldroot map.


Just because the root is dead doesn't mean there's no Magical Forest at the end of it.

Just because the root is dead doesn't mean there's no Magical Forest at the end of it.

I was under the impression that if the root died, the magical forest would also die, as it's all connected from the magic of Athel Loren

We need it regardless of whether she is put back in Kislev or not (which she must be), because she needs a way of getting back to her homeland.

Maybe.  Or maybe they just become haunted, twisted places.  Still a Magical Forest, but a dark shadow of it's former self.
