Currently the empire redline(many other factions too) have inconsistencies.

Skills have odd associations. See screenshots for the Karl franz

Honest steel have stats increases for greatswords (and demi knights)

But the veterancy skill (Strength of hardship) applies spearmen, swordsmen, flagellants, halberds and great swords.

Where as the skill (Emperor's finest) that applies to those units are unrelated to greatswords.

I believe this skill should be consistent in what it applies to.

Why would a monstrous Calvary buff be linked with a infantry buff?

What do you guys think?

I think red line skills are too good, and forgoes any decision tree regarding when to take them.  Also they encourage doomstacking which is terrible.  I've heard of an elegant solution to this issue from this forum:

Units which are buffed via red line skills also have their upkeep increased (lord's army) proportionately.  This way if you maxed out buffs for say Handgunners, their inflated upkeep would discourage you from having too many Handgunner units in the army.

Yep, there should be a balancing element to redline skills because as it stands they increase the punch of your entire army considerably. That increased punch should come with some sort of cost-factor.

Nice, I like that.

Other thought I have had around the latter half of the red line is, instead of all 4, 1 or 2 maybe, then the other 2/3 locked. But I think maybe cost is better. +1 from me
