We know this since yesterday but yes, the lack of new mechanics for the old Greenskins LL is a bummer.

The changes are 100% garbage. They're all about making the campaign easier and giving the player more for less effort.

Utter crap. Greenskins were already boring, there was no reason to make them even more braindead-easy.

There was no way CA could rework Ogres, give them mechanics, rework Khorne AND give each GS LL new mechanics.

Greenskins were by far the race in the best state amongst the three, so it's a good thing they took a backfoot. Just like High Elves did for Greenskins in WH2 btw.

The price for all 3 parts of the dlc is the same though. It’s not like it’s £4 for the GS and £8 got the OK and Khorne respectively.

They need to give every race roughly equal amounts if they want to sell them separately

Of course, there was. They did it for ToD. Look at Dwarf now, they are in the best position they have ever been and all their old generic lords and heroes are reworked.
Once again CA (according to GBoG) changed their plans to release their weird Cathay DLC after the ToD release (that's why we got that random new map expansion for 6.0)_and of course they didn't have the time to properly develop GS. They had 8 months working on this DLC (which is fairly hard given the circumstances they've been in financially) but CA Sofia has joined them to help with the development of the Khorne part of the DLC.

This omits that unlike GS Dwarfs never got a proper rework (tacking on the TK forging mechanic is not a rework) before ToD.

Also, I think Dwarfs are now horribly dull and the new mechanic makes them play like Khorne, so they're actually plain unplayable now if you don't want to just mindlessly paint the map.

Where/when did he say this?

He said that during his stream today.

What they did in ToD, is make 3 mechanics. 2 for LLs and ONE for Dwarfs. OOD got Khorne mechanics, 2 mechanics for Ogre LLS and contract rework.

The Deeps addressed that exact issue. You can decide to play turtle if you don't want to expand. But the mechanic does not depend on you expanding, but settling grudges on the nearest enemies that wronged you (I know this argument is beside the point, but I feel we are complaining about one of the best racial reworks we've seen today).

Only CA know if this is true or not. At the time, the rumour sounded insane made up lies… but certain events afterwards have given it some plausibility. Like the very long wait for OoD or the fact that one of the 3 races in the dlc looks half arsed

How is the very long wait for OoD a hint that those rumours were true ? The only DLC that wasn't developped for 6-7 months was Shadows of Change. Waiting 7 months for a new DLC is pretty much normal so far.

I would like to know what proof anyone has that Cathay is next in the line for DLC. This is just puzzling and doesn't make any sense. Much like what's been said about GBoG statement, that CA could have supposedly done more to GS, without delaying the DLC.

Aside from speculation (in which each individual can believe whatever they want - most of the facts are there for anyone to see/ignore), the main fact is that CA shafted GS, by not updating the generic lord and hero skill trees. Especially the Goblin War Boss is a stellar antithetic to the new Night Golbin War Boss, the same goes for the little Wagh caster lords, etc. This should be a main priority to get addressed in the upcoming patches, cause as Theo mentioned, the GS DLC is not an 8$ value, but much less.

there is no facts just speculation, i think is hard to judge a update and a dlc in the same time but be fair they made with the dlc budget
i think orks could be better but they not to bad

They need to give every race roughly equal amounts if they want to sell them separately

Which is a really key point.

If they're going to sell all three separately that's fine, but the excuse of one side being slimmer to support the others doesn't cut it. Ogres and Khorne got good DLCs, but the Greenskins will only be enjoyed by hardcore Greens.

that’s the worst part. I’ve probably complained more than anyone about the state of the GS in this dlc but I’ll probably buy the whole dlc cos they’re my favourite faction. But if they weren’t my favourite faction maybe I would skip them

I imagine you had the same dilemma BoG with the subpar SoC dlc
