Wood Elf FLC/Update

Here is what I would like to see for an eventual Asrai update in terms of NEW content:

Spellweavers and singers should get the remaining lores of magic (Death, metal, light, heavens, fire) and spellsingers should get access to high and dark, so you can bring both high and dark in the same army. this is a common theme in WE culture and would be cool to see represented in game.

Spellweavers should get access to the forest dragon mount, like the other elves.

Shadowdancer hero: foot only AP antilarge hero with battle dances and lore of shadows

1 LL: my personal favourite would be Thalandor Doomstar, but Naieth the Prophetess or Araloth would be fine too

Add the missing subfaction banners to custom battles (last patch modryn, anmyr and cythral banners got added and it was very nice to see)

NO more units

p.s. full athel loren map with all 12 realms would be lovely

Yes please! I would like to see Spellweavers and Spellsingers given colour coding to their lores in floral tones.

Really really want the Shadowdancer. Would have been amazing to have a Zoat Druid with Lore of Life as a made up hero but still Lore friendly I think.

Regarding Araloth I think CA could double up and give him hawk animations and make Elector Count Aldebrand Ludenhof use the same. That way they could make 2 lords for less effort.

Wood Elves are almost complete, it's a bit of a shame they didnt achieve it in the Twisted and the Twilight.

I would like to see but I'am not holding my breath:

- Shadowdancer melee hero with bound shadow spells and access to all Loec dances

- Araloth as FLC LL

- "White Hart of Athel Loren" as a Giant Great Stag single entity RoR. I really like when RoR aren't just a recoloured version of an existing unit

- Lore of Athel Loren (very unlikely I know given we are probably not getting the Lore of Hags)

- A bit more arrow variants. I don't understand why T&T didn't replicate the aspects forest spirits got to give the same scrap-like mechanic to arrows variants for the relevant units.

- Season of revelation "theater map"

Sorry, main thing I'm here for in any faction DLC is new units.

I'm still hoping for more forest spirit units to make spirit-only armies more viable and interesting. Given that the strangleroot attack hasn't really been implemented for treemen, a Strangleroot Treeman variant could make for a decent short-range option. While spites are in game as a mechanic, I'd love to see Greater Spites as a swarm-type unit. Naiads would be a good addition for both WE and Bretonnia (and as we now have one Incarnate Elemental in the game, the Incarnate Elemental of Life could work here). There's a lot of room for interpretation within the forest spirit lore, if CA decide to get creative.

More arrow-types would be welcome, and I agree with those who have suggested that the existing ammunition variants should be reconceptualised via an iteration of the scrap mechanic (with the option to toggle different ammunition types against the unit in multiplayer, for those who care about such things).

I like the smaller treants that AoS has with either swords or bows. Could be a decent monstrous infantry forest spirit similar to ushabti and ushabti greatbows. Though I'm not sure if they ar lorefully exclusive to AoS (Meaning they only exist due to something that occurred in AoS)

Would still love to know what this guy was from the 8th edition rulebook:

I suspect the mentioned dragon is:

As for dream beings, I'm unaware of their existence outside the text in question.

In case the inserted image is wrong and the intended one is this one*:

The art was on the cover of 6ED WE AB, that's when this miniature of a Treeman came out:

In regards to the thread's main topic, Spellweavers couldn't mount dragons on TT.

Also, I would prefer one more DLC over FLC.

*I remember it being discussed in years past.

For this reason I thought/hoped that the incarnate of beasts would be available to the we as well. it fits the animalistic spirits of athel loren which we sadly never got to see.

I just hope that CA will eventually add Naieth the Prophetess and Araloth as Wood Elves legendary lords. If Wood Elves really need another legendary hero, there's always Scarloc.

I would personally like to get Amadri as a LL/LH as well.

He's the Treekin that still retains his memories right? With a Slaanesh rivalry he'd be good too. Maybe if CA ever returns to FLC lords

I also like the half elf half tree guys, they look like something that could happen if you take a nap on the wrong tree in Athel loren.

I don't like the thought of a second anti-large AP hero for Wood Elves. It's even worse if they're unable to ride a mount.
