the-eight-books-of-khorne-v0-pnkyu899hh7f1.pngSo how do you all feel about the addition of the new unique item? It seems quite interesting to me not gonna lie, but in a similar manner to the Nemesis crown, the benefits of destroying the item don't feel as epic as keeping the item.
Also has anyone managed to get the books as a Khornate faction and can possibly share that side of the effects?

I find it still hilarious that they thought the item best representing Khorne would be friggin' books. What's even in them? 888 pages of "Kill, maim burn"?

I think Tarrif made an excellent video showcasing the meme about "Knowledge is Power."
To be honest, though the Book does not offer the user any sort of Khorne-related buffs, on the contrary, it offers Upkeep and Spell Intensity Benefits that I find quite weird.

Oh indeed he did well.

How hilariously awful. Are there "Pamphlets of Khorne" he hands out to his champions before they sack a city so they plunder, pillage and burn in Khorne-approved methods?

Massive buff to spell intensity is certainly a choice for a Khornate item.

It seems like the spell intensity bit is being done from the perspective of representing those who would seek to bind the daemons and use them for their magic. This is an inherently magical set of items by nature of being related to magical beings.

It might make sense, considering that Khorne offers innate Spell Resistance to his followers, so reverse engineering the books would provide the user with Spell Intensity.
With that being said, I would also expect to see some melee buffs alongside.

I dunno, the flavor text doesn't seem to indicate it's reverse-engineered or anything. Just that it's a very powerful Khornate artifact with His gaze fixed upon it, giving massive Khorne corruption even. If anything spell resistance would make a lot more sense.

I like more choices but I would rather faction reform mechanics over items that can either be used or ignored with a sort-of faction flavour to them, but if only you are trying to role play really hard. Just a little superficial while there lacks more for factions to asspire to, unlike in Crusader Kings 3 for example where you can take decision to evolve your state and interactions with the world.

If the spell intensity is only there because user is imbued with chaos energy, then it should refine other things too. Like buff weapon strength of the character or the army while corrupting them.
