Please change the design of Lord Shugenji, who has the blood of a dragon in his veins, I like the design of miniatures and drawings more than in the original game, it would be nice to make their mounts bigger like the Knights of Chaos, which also underwenta redesign.Screenshot_3.pngScreenshot_2.pngScreenshot_1.png

You can really tell we got an early draft of Cathay in WH3.  Makes sense, but the newer art and table top versions are totally superior.

I would argue that the TT Shugengan is more of a mix between the WH3 Shugengan and the Celestial General.

Our Longma is a glorified scaly Pegasus. Make it true to the miniature. I want a truly draconic beast!

Wow. Those models look even better up-close. They did a great job of differentiating it from a regular horse. It actually has a mouth like a predatory creature as opposed to a typical herbivore. Even the eyes look more menacing.

Shugengan vs Shugengan at home :O I would think this is one of those things they would update if the community pushes for it enough.

It pales in comparison to the miniature.

I wonder if the stats of pegasus and longma should be the same? Wouldn't it be like horse vs demigryph.

That may be, but it doesn't change the fact that they put a lot of effort into that model. It's not a low effort kitbash. People are acting as though they got stiffed by CA. However, I don't recall seeing a single disparaging remark about Longmas until now.

I'll say this in this thread also for the people that still don't get it; CA is not going to create a model that is widely considered better than anything that GW has released for Grand Cathay. Games Workshop would never allow something like that to happen. They would get absolutely obliterated by every source that covers the hobby.

They are each monstrous cavalry -- same as the unicorn. So they are larger than a horse but smaller than a griffon or Celestial Lion. Statistically, Great Longma Riders are comparable to Demigryphs.

The mount is the main problem. It looks so good in the miniature and the drawing and it´s just another pegasus in the game. It sucks.

In this case, you can make two versions of the Longmas, one simple and the other large, and at the same time add a new variation of the Lord.

I'm not questioning the quality of the model. We have been stiffed by CA. That would be because we haven't seen Longma's miniature before its reveal - there was nothing to compare it to.

I expect a new, faithful model of the beast. Whether it is an update or a separate entity, I care little.

We have magic Shugengan, we have melee Shugengan. This one could be melee-ranged hybrid Shugengan. And if they add melee-magic hybrid Shugengan too, then even better.

Shugengan are hybrid lords. I've been saying this for years now. They're not exceptional fighters in the game but they are decent in melee. They're comparable to an exalted hero in melee. They actually get a pretty decent spike once they are mounted on a Longma. People have continued to tell me that they needed the gate master hero to protect them because they are too fragile in combat. It's why I never hesitate to question whether someone actually plays this game.

There is no variation of Longma that I'm aware of. They're actually referred to as spirit Longmas in the game. They're monstrous-sized in the game and have a stat profile that matches a typical monstrous mount.

It seems most likely that GW made their model years after the CA version.

No, it doesn't. No reasonable person is going to believe you because you -- nor anyone else -- were not saying that it sucks previously. It's a very good looking model.

I've been saying that it -- and all of the other members of its class -- should be bigger than it's depicted in the game for years. Unicorns are also supposed to be much larger than they are rendered in the game. These creatures have only recently seen their mass increased to a level that reflects their overall physical stature. People should have been complaining about this more loudly years ago; I know I was...

The horses woke me up. Come the first spark, the equine mysteries dispelled the night.

What a sorry sight this Longma of ours is - I must repeat. I always thought it ought to be more draconic. Now, it is.

  • Remodel it.
  • Make it a new mount and unit.

The choice is yours.
