The 25 years of Total War

I want to preface this by saying that I am not looking to be negative, but I want CA to actually try to do something right for their fanbase that's literally keeping the lights on for their studio right now single-handedly.

We are officially at the end of the first half of the year, and things couldn't be duller than they are for Total War.

Although the year started strong with the much-needed Kislev rework, Creative Assembly has failed to instill any confidence about the future of its games.

The marketing for the upcoming DLC has stagnated since the first month of Slaanesh teases, and we are still waiting for any updates regarding 6.2 and what's next for the game as a whole. We need CA to actually engage with their own game; where are the livestreams of the CA team playing their games? Or actual chats with the community?

Please, CA, maintain consistent communication with the community and don't only show up in the most dire of circumstances.

the ironic thing is, when you’ve bought 3 main games, and over a dozen DLCs for a game, it discourages you from buying other Total War games. WH40k isn’t particularly appealing to me as on release, we’ll have 4 or 5 factions with maybe 10 LLs, whereas I can play a TWWH campaign which has far more detail and immersion instead.  I’m shocked that CA are willing to slowly kill off the golden goose

Don't be hyperbolic, they are doing no such thing.

Please don't apply your personal idiosyncrasies to other people. I bought all of Rome2's DLC and that didn't stop me from buying Attila in the least. And having both and all of their respective DLC didn't stop me from buying Warhammer.

This game didn't even had one good year of support and content. It struggles since launch.

If CA will treat WH3 badly, I defnitely won't buy WH40 k or other titles, but thats just my opinion.

don’t worry, I knew it was just your opinion by the fact that you wrote it. I didn’t assume that you were forcing your idiosyncrasies on everyone via your comment on a forum lol

Exactly this! Even in the best years when ToD and Chorfs got released something shity happened

I wouldn't count Chaos Dwarfs as a good year. They got cut a LL from the standard formula. No FLC LL. Massive price hike. And 4 months later in the same year, SoC 1.0 drops and the riot happens.

I would define the years so far as the following:

2022 - Delayed launch and fundamentally bad RoC campaign. Then Valkia and the others get kidnapped into WoC.

2023 - Chaos Dwarfs get snubbed and the SoC disaster

2024 - So far the good year, with SoC 2.0, the lauded ToD and the perfectly decent OoD. Plus new juicy interim patches.

2025 - A quiet year so far, but good Kislev/Kairos rework. Missed Skulls is meh. DLC coming this summer and its not impossible for another in December

If we had 2 teams working on a dlc the December one could be possible - but that's not the case.

You were clearly making a general statement here, buddy. Don't accuse others of lacking telepathy to read your thoughts and know what you rreally mean.

How so? It's not like you are forced to only play one Total War game. Just because you buy other games doesn't mean that you will lose all the TWW stuff you bought.

Meh. It's not like Chaos Dwarfs had anyone else to add.

Either a lore character or an OC like Cylostra. Remember all the talk about a Bull Centaur?

According to CA, creating Cylostra was really hard. I doubt that she was played enough to justify resources that CA wasted on her.

There was no talk about any Bull Centaurs from CA, except when they said that Shar'tor is an AoS character.

I meant from the community. Everyone, and I do mean everyone, was expecting 4 LLs and most pinned that down to a Bull Centaur.

I wish that would've been enough to create a SoC-like riot so that we could've gotten reinforcements like with SoC 2.0. But Chaos Dwarfs came out too shiny and were too anticipated for that to happen.

Even still after CA's efforts to rectify the past, we are still, in total, owed 3 LLs for all of the missed oppertunities. A Chaos Dwarf, a Kislevite and a Tzeentchian. And that is in addition to whatever future additions they had planned for those races beforehand.

Couldn't agree more. People tend to forget easily, and that's a huge bummer.
