Hey Folks, 


As revealed only a few short weeks ago, our next DLC for Total War: WARHAMMER III brings Khorne, Ogre Kingdoms, and Orcs & Goblins to the centre stage.  


Today we’re thrilled to be sharing more insight into what you can expect when this content releases at the end of 2024, the Legendary Lords that are set to lead each faction (alongside some sneak peeks at a couple of key units), and how we’re using this time between now and the launch of this DLC to cast our eyes back onto the core game experience and to ask ourselves, and you, what changes and experiences we can bring to that.

As talked about by Rich in this Development Update, our next DLC takes place entirely within Immortal Empires, and won’t feature a new campaign for The Realm of Chaos. We’ll continue to support campaigns in The Realm of Chaos regardless in our updates and hotfixes, ensuring that the experience is always fun, balanced, and available to old and new players alike, but we wanted to make sure everyone understood our direction for the game moving forward.


It’s also been a while since we talked to you so directly in this style of content, so please do share your thoughts and feedback on the format of videos like this too as we’d love to hear from you, and love to keep showing up on your screens just like this in the future.


We’ll return in the late summer with another development update from the teams, letting you know how we’re getting on with our work and to lift the curtain some more on the work we have in progress.  


Meanwhile, we’ve just launched Update 5.1 for all players, bringing best boi Karanak to the roster alongside a tonne of fixes, balance passes, and improvements to the game. In the coming weeks, we’re looking to release a Hotfix to help tidy up a few latent issues we’ve spotted since the Update went live, and we’ll keep you updated on future our releases as we roll out each one.

They confirmed the FLC to be for Khorne so I'm sure we'll get Arbaal too. I didn't really care about the DLC Khorne LL personally, I only wanted Valkia and she's not even in Khorne.

Really like the new format, having both a tease of the new content being worked on and some of the mechanics being looked at for updates (cults getting a shout in particular was good). It sounds like the target for these videos would be around quarterly which I think makes a fair amount of sense.


Definitely excited about the shift to major updates in the maintenance patches, 5.1 updated and addressed a lot of issues very effectively so hopefully that format will carry forward.

Because he is just a named Herald with a super boring model. He is FLC material like Epidemius and should never be put behind a paywall.

Thats the problem. Arbaal should get the DLC budget not boring Skulltaker.

I'm fine with Skulltaker being DLC, of all the named Heralds he is the most interesting in my opinion.

They explained a pretty unique "lord hunting" mechanic for skulltaker that I think needs to DLC budget to be as engaging as it can be; described as targeted lord hunting as opposed to Skarbrand's wild continent rampages.


Arbaal the Undefeated can be done justice with FLC level khorne mechanics; extremely powerful lord, lots of fighting, massive buffs for winning in sequence, huge debuffs for being defeated. I really like the look they took for skull taker, he definitely doesnt look generic.

Video format - fine, entertaining - please try to communicate more with your fans. I follow SCS's truck simulator blog and they post something almost every day. I don't expect that, but more engagement would help keep the ball in your court and out of the youtubers'.


DLC not coming till end of year - extremely disappointing.

I'd be happy to pay 25 quid 3 or more times a year for new content. Sounds like you've just started on it and that 'Legend's Leaks' were correct. I wouldn't mind some Cathay stuff between now and Khorne. People's main problem seems to be that they think it will come at the expense of stuff we want more. Providing that's not the case then why not a bit more Cathay? But yeah, would be a mistake to go back now. Please try to stick to this new 'roadmap', I have a strong suspicion it's not your fault that you keep changing things around but it would be nice to have some feeling that CA have settled down now and things are on a sure footing. As you are aware, many many people really care about this game. I'm one of them.


Stuff coming in the interim - great!!! Some reworks, some freebies, would be very nice indeed, yes- just not TOO often. Updates break mods, as you know, and a lot of people get frustrated by this.


Content of the DLC - sounds great. Skulltaker seems a bit of a surprise/disappointment to some of the commenters here, but I like his look with the coat of skulls, and my guess is you felt he had more gameplay potential than the other guy/guys. I'm very happy with all of it so far. Just... it's so far away... sob.


Future stuff - Definitely Slaanesh too? VC? Great news. Other 'neglected' races getting some love? Also cool. Specifically I'd like to see Wulfric get an Oxyotl-like mechanic - he's supposed to be a hitman for the gods with Seafang. A milder Norsca 'trade and raid' faction like Skeggi or Bjornlings where you can choose in the end to ally with the order factions you trade with and take the brutal consequences of spitting in the face of Chaos when the Everchosen calls would also be nice.


I really hope you get to add everything you'd love to do. If the possibility occurs, please also consider Ind and Khuresh. I've been supporting SCS and trucksim since 2013 and they are still churning out great stuff for their old games, and people are happily buying it. Regular releases over many years could be a great earner for CA even while you also produce other stuff. Just, please, try to hurry them up a bit!!!
