They were talks a few years ago, but the agreement never materialised. Throb is a bit close to GoT, they even stole the music theme. Now, it's too late I think, since the GoT trend has faded out. There are some great mods for Medieval II, though.

Sheikh's taking his passive-aggressive potshots at TW again. Talks trash about ToB when he admitted he hasn't bought any TW games since 2010. Why don't you go and play a game series you actually like instead of trolling the forum for a series you abandoned 15 years ago?

Also, WHFB was just as dead in the water before Total War came along, so that doesn't mean anthing. 3K showed that TW can do deeper diplomacy and character interaction, so a GoT game would absolutely be something the series could pull off.

One new book and GoT is top again.

I would love to play TW: A Song of Ice and Fire. Fantasy but very grounded. More like Medieval than Warhammer.

With Medieval 3 I believe there would be mod for it. But I would prefer official version. TW:GoT standalone or as DLC for Med 3 (like Charlemagne for Attila).

Rent-free. Anyway, you can just watch the trailer. That's a fact and has nothing to do with how much you like Throb or not.

Also, try reading, it's not a matter of whether they can pull it off, but whether there's a good enough motivation and, in my opinion there isn't. It isn't very healthy to get so upset and hysterical at different opinions.

Btw ToB was solid game. I finnished it only once but it was entertaining.

I really liked supply mechanic, would be great to have it in other game (and multiple main resources from Troy).

I wouldn't think so. Doesn't really do well with the fantasy element for that line, with rather limited choices in units and gameplay while also relying heavily on behind the scenes type moves and interactions which TW doesn't do well. And like you say it has a high price tag. Means it's rather a bad investment over other IPs and other historical periods.

They did, 3K continued using supply. Pharaoh/Dynasties has also kept the resource mechanic although hopefully will not continue post bronze age games.

They could do a GoTs, there’s no real evidence to suggest they tried and failed it. It could be similar to 3K with some very advanced diplomatic mechanics. There’s a number of ways they could approach it.
