Give the player more power in custom combat, provide a mode that allows the player to control enemies and friendly forces, but also allow the player to return control of enemy forces to the AI, which can make it easy for the player to test classes, study tactics, test bugs or take more interesting photos.

Not a bad idea.  It’s a custom battle, so having more ways to ‘customize’ would make sense.  Add this to every Total War.
